Hakeem Muhammad Tariq Mehmood was the son of Hakeem Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai. Muhammad Ramzan was the son of Haji Allah Baksh, and Haji Allah Baksh was the son of Maulana Wali Muhammad. Wali Muhammad was the son of Maulana Abdul Haq, and Maulana Abdul Haq was the son of Maulana Faiz Muhammad. Maulana Faiz Muhammad was the son of Sufi Ghulam Muhammad.

He got his early education from Ahmadpur Sharqiya Bahal Pur. Muhammad Tariq Mehmood got FSC degree from Government college from 1988-1991. He completed his herbal medicine education from the government Tayabba College, Bhawalpur. He also got a Gold medal from this college.
